![]() It's not much to look at, but boy is it delicious. You have to use Steel Cut Oats to make this recipe. Regular oats would become too mushy. You can find Steel Cut Oats in most grocery stores. I found that they are less expensive at the health food store (Our local Food Co-op) in the bulk bins. I love waking up to the smell of warm cinnamon and sugar. You can change flavorings in this recipe to your liking. Add raisins, nuts, etc. This recipe makes enough for 4 servings. I have doubled it and put it in my large crock pot for company. Ingredients: 1 cup steel cut oats 1 cup half & half 4 cups water 1/2 cup brown sugar 1/2 tsp. vanilla 1/2 tsp. cinnamon Directions: Combine all ingredients in crockpot and set on low when you go to bed. Oatmeal will be perfect when you wake up, about 8 hours.
