Last year for Christmas, I received an Instant Pot Duo Crisp Pressure Cooker 11 in 1 with Air Fryer, 8 Qt  (amazon link).  It has been one of my most used Christmas gifts ever.  This fall I have been dehydrating pears and apples using the dehydrating function and it is such an easy and delicious way to preserve fresh fruit.
Dehydrating pears and apples
I started out dehydrating pears when a friend gave us a bushel of pears, but have now dehydrated apples too.  I dehydrate apples the exact same way as pears which you can see in the video below.

Ingredients:
2 to 3 Apples or Pears

Peel fruit, core and slice thin.  Place in the Instant Pot Duo Crisp Pressure Cooker 11 in 1 with Air Fryer, 8 Qt  (amazon link).  Use the dehydrate function for 7 hours at 135 degrees F.

Can you use perforated parchment circles for the air fryer when dehydrating fruit?

This topic came up in the comments on my youtube video so I ordered some perforated parchment circles to try and here is my experience.

I finally bought some air fryer perforated parchment circles.  I did not measure the diameter of my Instant Pot Duo Crisp + Air Fryer before ordering and ordered these Zulay parchment circles
(amazon link) in 9 inch circles.  They did come in a handy pouch with a basting brush. They were bigger than my machine, but I just let them curl up the sides a little and they are awesome for ease of use and having a non-stick surface. I have since used the parchment circles when dehydrating fruit and they make clean-up so easy.

I just measured the actual diameter of my air fryer basket and it is 8 inches so next time I will order something like these parchment circles
(amazon link) in the 8 inch size.

Do you treat the fruit with anything first of just slice and put on the rack? How thin do you slice the fruit? I would like to try this, have never done it before. Thank you for any help you can give me. I just got my first instant pot duo crisp 8qt. with air fryer for Christmas and love it. My 2year old 6gt. pressure cooker gave up the ghost so I went with the instant pot and so far love it. Thanks

I don't treat the fruit with anything. I like about a 1/4 inch slice. You can make them thinner or thicker. I would try different batches with different thicknesses and see what is your favorite. Congrats on the new instant pot! It's a wonderful appliance. The apples or pears may stick a little, but any little bits that stick wash off easily. I haven't tried them yet, but I have seen perforated parchment circles on amazon for use in an air fryer. I may order some and try them sometime. You may find the video in this post helpful. Have fun dehydrating!

What a great birthday present. I would love to hear how they turn out. I just bought a bunch of mangos on sale and am thinking of trying them too.

They turned out really well, very sweet like candy.

Do you use the air fryer lid or the pressure cooker lid?

Great question. You use the air fryer lid for dehydrating.

Have you used blueberries? Or cranberries?

I haven't tried any berries yet, but that is a good idea. If you try berries I would love to hear how you did it and how they turned out.

I do not have the option dehydrator on my instant pot. I did order the accessories to turn my instant pot into a dehydrator/air fryer. Am I still able to use it for that capacity?

Hi Mona,
I'm sorry I did not see your comment sooner. I am not familiar with the accessories to make it into a dehydrator/air fryer so I am not sure how it works without the buttons for those functions on the actual instant pot. I hope you find the answer to your question.

Does it have to be a single layer? Or can you fill it up?

It will work better in a single layer, but I have gotten impatient before and piled in a few more and I still had good results. I wouldn't put in a thick layer as it would probably take a really long time to dehydrate.

Thank you do much for showing how to use the dehydrater on the instant pot. Received the pro crisp plus airfryer ror Christmas and I’m trying the different functions. It’s a little try and miss if I don’t find info videos like yours. So Thank you!
