These bread machine breadsticks have been a favorite in our house for years. The boys love them and always ask for them. They are budget friendly, easy to prepare and make a great snack or part of a meal.

These bread sticks are so easy to make following these simple instructions.
Then bake for 10-15 minutes at 375 degrees F until golden brown. When the breadsticks come out of the oven, drizzle 1/4 cup (4 Tbsp.) melted butter on them. Next sprinkle garlic salt on top to taste. I don't usually add parmesan, but if you like, you can sprinkle parmesan cheese on top too.
The Best Bread Machine Breadsticks
Put these ingredients in your bread machine in the order listed.
1 cup warm water 1/4 cup olive oil 3 cups all purpose flour 1 tsp. salt 3 Tbsp coconut sugar or brown sugar* 2 1/2 tsp active dry yeast 1. Run the bread machine on the dough cycle. 2. When the dough cycle is finished, roll the dough out onto a lightly buttered baking sheet. (A flat one with no sides is easist for rolling out and cutting the dough.) 3. Use a pizza cutter to cut the dough into breadsticks as pictured above. 4. Cover with a lint free towel and let rise for about an hour. 5. Bake at 375 degrees F for 10-15 minutes until golden brown. Ingredients for topping the breadsticks and serving: 1/4 cup (1/2 stick) butter, melted Garlic salt Parmesan cheese (optional) Marinara sauce for dipping 1. When breadsticks come out of the oven, slowly drizzle melted butter evenly on top. I drizzle it slowly to let it absorb into the breadsticks so it doesn't run off the edge of the pan. 2. Sprinkle with garlic salt to taste and if desired with parmesan cheese. 3. Serve with marinara I rarely have leftovers because I have 4 growing boys, but you can reheat any leftover bread sticks at 375 degrees F for 5 minutes or so until they are warm. To store leftover breadsticks, I put in an airtight container for a day or two at room temperature. *I use coconut sugar in these and in most of my baking because it works as well as sugar and is lower on the glycemic index. I linked to the coconut sugar that I buy on subscribe and save from Amazon in the ingredient list. It's a great quality product at a very competitive price.
Guess where I bought my bread machine? At a thrift store for $6.99 and I have been using it for years.
