30 Days of Giving Thanks
There is so much for which to be thankful.  I have been listening to an audio book "The Proper Care and Feeding of Marriage" by Dr. Laura.  It has really made me reflect and think about the quality and amount of time I give my husband.  I realized that I don't spend enough time with him so I took the night off from blogging last night.  Since I took the night off, I might write a little more tonight.

I am thankful for my family, especially my husband and three beautiful boys.  I love being a wife and mom and sharing life with these amazing people.

I am also thankful for my readers.  I have been writing this blog for a couple of years and have been blessed with growing numbers and wonderful feedback.  I am thankful for my 1255 subscribers, 1210 facebook fans, 2458 twitter followers, and  649 pinterest followers.

If you would like to participate in 30 Days of Giving thanks, you can link up your posts at Blessed Beyond Words.

I love roadtrips.  Who doesn't?  What I don't like is trying to figure out where we should stay, eat, and the best things to do when we are there.  There is so much information online, it can be overwhelming.  I just discovered the Roadtrip-a-Matic at visitPA.com.  You have to check it out at pa-roadtrips.  There is a roadtrip for everyone.  Choose from dozens of roadtrips including selections from Spree - the Shoppers Roadtrip, Kidsylvania, and Taste Buds on Tour.

If I plan a trip to PA with the kiddos in tow, I will be checking out all the sites to see on the Kidsylvania tours.  Traveling with kids is fun, but also a challenge.  VisitPA.com has done all of the work for you.  They have planned three different kid friendly roadtrips that include fun things to do like visiting the Philidelphia Zoo and the Fairmount Water Works.  They have also selected restaurants and hotels with kids in mind.

As much fun as it would be to travel with the kids, I would really love to take a trip with just my husband.  I would pick one of the Keystone Country tours, "From chow-chow to chardonnay".  This trip takes you to Lancaster County and the new Turkey Hill Experience.  Turkey Hill chocolate icecream is one of my favorite icecreams I have ever tried.  This roadtrip includes a couple of stops at wineries and other agritourism sites.

I don't know why, but I have never thought of creating a maze on the sidewalk for my boys.  (Maybe I'm lacking a creative gene.)  My super creative husband made some intricate mazes with sidewalk chalk.  This was a great activity.  Our 4 year old loved the challenge and the feeling of accomplishment when he solved each maze.
The younger boys didn't get into solving the mazes, but they loved being outside.

Today is my 36th birthday.  My sweet sister Rebecca baked me a cake last weekend and gave me this cute apron.  She had it embroidered with my website name, Home Ec @ Home.  One of these days, I will film some vlogs (video blogs) and this apron will be perfect.  Thanks Rebecca!

I have been neglecting the daunting task of cleaning my fridge for some time now so I decided last night to divide the fridge into sections and do one section each night when I do the dishes.  Last night I cleaned the bottom left crisper and underneath the drawer.  At this rate, the entire fridge should be clean in a week.

I am challenging you, my readers, to take on a task you have been avoiding like cleaning out the fridge.  Comment on this post and share what challenge you will take on for a chance to win a Pampered Chef Cookbook from my personal collection.

This giveaway has now ended.

This is really simple to do and kids love it.  Simply fill a large tub or bowl with dry beans and provide some fun scooping and measuring toys.  You will need to put down a table cloth or blanket to more easily collect the beans for clean-up.  My boys have asked to play with the beans three times in the last week and my 3 year old gets out trucks and trains and fills them with beans too.

I have been reading a blog called "Keeping the Kingdom First" and really enjoyed this article.  She listed five ideas for modeling good stewardship.  I won't go into great detail here - you can check out the article for yourself.

1.  Watch what you say.
2.  Pay with cash.
3.  Cook with your kids.
4.  Save for something special as a family.
5.  Be generous

Thanks Keeping the Kingdom First for letting me share your article.
