Great Kids Activity: Bean Sensory Tub
This is really simple to do and kids love it. Simply fill a large tub or bowl with dry beans and provide some fun scooping and measuring toys. You will need to put down a table cloth or blanket to more easily collect the beans for clean-up. My boys have asked to play with the beans three times in the last week and my 3 year old gets out trucks and trains and fills them with beans too.
Glass Divided Platter
I love this divided glass platter. Each section is a separate dish that lifts out. My husband actually found this at a thrift store and it is one of my favorite things.
Budget Friendly Fall Centerpiece
I bought these for $2 (50 cents each) at my local Farmer's Market and arranged them in a serving bowl I already had. You can decorate with squash, mini pumpkins, and gourds for just a few dollars and enjoy the natural beauty of fall in your home. My 3 year old thinks these are so cool and was really excited to help decorate.

Toys R Us Geoffrey's Birthday Club
Last summer I signed my toddler up for Geoffrey's birthday club at Toys R Us. A couple of weeks ago we received a card in the mail inviting us to go to Toys R Us on or near his birthday to select a Thomas the Train Engine of his choice. I took him to the service desk and told them it was his birthday. They crowned him and brought out a balloon, then asked if they could announce his name and age on the intercom. I said yes and had a beaming birthday boy walking around the store proudly displaying his crown and balloon. And then to top it off he picked out a brand new Thomas engine. The birthday club is open to one through ten year olds. It was a lot of fun. We celebrated his birthday over the weekend, so this gave us something special to do on his actual birthday and it was free!
Annie Chun's Organic Teriyaki Chow Mein Noodles & Sauce
I recently tried Annie's Teriyaki Chow Mein Noodles and was pleasantly surprised that a box meal could taste so good. It retails for around $4.50 at the local Meijer grocery store. I purchased it on sale for $3.00 and had a $1.00 off coupon making it a grand total of $2.00. I had printed a coupon from a coupon site about a year ago and it was about to expire so I thought sure I'll try it for $2.00. It was so good that I have already purchased a second box. It is easy to prepare and ready in 10 minutes. I added shrimp and some vegetables that I purchased at the farmers market-zucchini, yellow squash, and sugar snap peas. It was delicious.
The America's Test Kitchen Family Cookbook
This is the best cookbook. It is from America's Family Test Kitchen. These recipes are tested extensively and so are the ingredients and equipment. If you only buy one cookbook, this is the one to buy. It is a great general cookbook with just about every recipe you can imagine. It is my absolute favorite!

I love this coated wire organization shelf. I found this at Walmart and it is perfect for stacking the small baby and toddler dishes and containers.
