Have you seen the new LeapReader products?  We have two of the older model Leap Pads (which the boys still love) but they are more limited in what they can do in comparison with the new LeapReader line.  We were sent this great LeapReader collection and have enjoyed learning all of the fun and educational things we can do with it.  We even invited some friends over to play with our new LeapReaders.

First we read "A Special Lunch" with the LeapReader and answered some of the interactive questions that went with the story.  The kids all took turns answering and were actively engaged.  The little ones wanted to participate too as you can see with my two year old on my lap.

We played Flashcard Mash-up by creating words with the cards and then using the LeapReader to sound out the words.

The kids were so excited to wear these 3-D glasses and read Monsters University in 3-D with the LeapReader.

I love the new LeapReader collection.  The LeapReader is so easy to use.  The boys  love it and "read" or listen to stories on their own.  The LeapReader has so much to offer and the writing workbooks are genius.  The LeapReader does not write in the reading books, but does write in the writing workbooks and on special LeapReader paper.  Therefore, the boys can't accidentally write in their reading books with the LeapReader pen.

Here is some more information from LeapReader.
  • LeapReader™- LeapReader engages kids in imaginative stories with lively character voices while building vocabulary skills and growing reading comprehension skills.  Interactive handwriting guidance helps children learn to write stroke-by-stroke on mess-free, no ink LeapFrog® Learning Paper. Plus Leap Reader helps develop listening comprehension skills on-the-go with a growing library of 100+ audio books and more featuring classic and popular children's books that encourage a love of reading.
  • LeapReader™ Book: Learn to Write Letters with Mr Pencil- Join Dot, Dash and Mr. Pencil on a musical learning adventure featuring interactive stroke guidance, exciting sound effects and engaging activities. Practice writing the alphabet with the LeapReader, and learn about upper- and lowercase letters and letter sounds.
  • LeapReader™ 3D Book: Disney•Pixar Monsters University- LeapReader brings the story of Monsters University to life with exciting 3D effects and helps build reading comprehension and vocabulary skills!
  • LeapReader™/Tag™ Interactive Talking Words Factory Flash Cards- This Early Reading flash card set helps develop core phonics skills by letting children actively play with word sounds and recognize how they come together to create words . Mix and match letters to build more than 100 words featuring short vowel sounds. More than 400 interactive responses and 5 spelling, rhyming and singing games reinforce word-building fun.
Our LeapReader Party was energetic and fun.  The kids loved playing with the new LeapReaders at the party and our boys continue to use their LeapReaders.  These are great products that will get lots of use in our house.  Another perk, they are great for traveling.  We have done a lot of traveling lately and it sure has been nice having two LeapReaders in the car for our four and six year olds.
