I recieved a box of Borax Laundry Booster to review. 20 Mule Team Borax has been around since 1891 and is 100% natural mineral from the earth. Borax is the common name for sodium tetraborate: a naturally occurring substance produced by the perpetual evaporation of seasonal lakes. Absolutely nothing is added. No phosphates, chlorine, or other additive chemicals. You can feel good about using this product on your children's clothes.
With three little boys, there is never a shortage of dirty laundry. My oldest actually played in the mud the other day so I soaked his pants in warm water with Borax before washing. I also added Borax to the washing machine with my regular detergent.
20 Mule Team Borax is also a multi-purpose household cleaner with many uses. Pick up a box next time you are in the grocery store and read about all the many ways you can use it. I even made homemade laundry detergent with Borax earlier in the week and it is doing a great job of cleaning our clothes.

I saw this gorgeous recipe at Joy the Baker for Cinnamon Sugar Pull-Apart Bread. I was excited to try it, but after reading the recipe I thought I could convert this to a bread machine recipe and save myself some time. It worked wonderfully in the bread machine. The dough was easy to work with and the bread was delicious. If you don't have a bread machine, you can see the original recipe at Joy the Baker.
1/3 cup whole milk
4 Tbsp. unsalted butter (salted butter will work too)
1/4 cup warm tap water
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 large eggs
3 cups all-purpose flour
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 1/4 teaspoons (1 envelope) active dry yeast
1 cup granulated sugar
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
fresh ground nutmeg
4 Tbsp. unsalted butter, melted until browned (It smells like warm caramel.)
1. Warm milk and butter in a saucepan until butter melts. Pour this liquid into the bread machine.
2. Add the rest of the ingredients in the order listed. Run the bread machine on the dough cycle for sweet dough. My machine takes about an hour and a half.
3. When the dough is done, roll it out into a big sheet of dough.
4. Brush the dough with the browned butter.
5. Sprinkle with the cinnamon/sugar mixture. Grate some fresh nutmeg over the dough.
6. Next, cut the dough into long thin strips. A pizza wheel works great for this.
7. Cut the long dough strips into stacks of squares.
8. Place the dough stacks in a greased bread pan.
9. Let rise again until almost double in size before baking or cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight to bake for breakfast.
10. Place a rack in the center of the oven and preheat to 350 degrees F. Bake bread for 30 to 35 minutes, until the top is very golden brown. The top may be lightly browned, but the center may still be doughy. Pull apart a couple of pieces and check to see that the bread is done.
Move over busy schedule – It's Movie Time, brought to you by General Mills.
A family night out might feel impossible right now due to busy schedules and expenses. It can be difficult to find time to get out of the house for some family fun. Well, General Mills is willing to make it easier to catch the latest blockbuster just by eating their delicious cereal!
For a limited time enjoying a night out at the movies is as simple as enjoying your favorite cereals from General Mills.
Here's how it works:
For a limited time (11/08/2012 – 12/06/2013) you can receive a free movie ticket when you purchase two specially marked packages of General Mills cereals including Cheerios, Cinnamon Toast Crunch, Lucky Charms, Trix, Cocoa Puffs, Golden Grahams, and Reese's Peanut Butter Puffs.
After purchasing two participating cereals, visit www.generalmills.com/moviecash to enter the unique code found inside each box of cereal and print-off your free Movie Cash certificate (good for one admission of up to a $12 value at participating theaters). To find a participating movie theater in your area log onto: www.emoviecash.com/dis_locator/
I received a box of Cheerios and two free movie cash certificates. I used the emovie cash locator to find a theater that accepted my free movie cash certificates. There were several theaters in my area from which to choose. I was surprised at how easy it was to redeem the certificates. I simply handed them to the movie theater employee just like cash. It took a few minutes for him to enter all of the data into the computer and then we were good to go. My husband and I enjoyed a fun night out at the movies. (Thanks Grandma and Grandpa for babysitting.)
