This is the easiest homemade laundry detergent.  I have been using it for a couple of weeks with great results.  Don't forget to enter my giveaway for 20 Mule Team Borax.

Ingredients:
2 cups Arm & Hammer Super Washing Soda
2 cups 20 Mule Team Borax
1 Fels-Naptha laundry bar
1 capful of Purex Crystals (optional for added scent)

1.  Grate on a fine grater a bar of Fels-Naptha laundry soap.
2.  Then mix in the super washing soda, borax, and optional Purex Crystals.  That is all there is to it.  Use 1 to 2 Tbsp. detergent per laundry load depending on size of load.

I've been using this recipe for about a year now and my husband says it makes his bright yellow security work shirt dull. I don't want to go back to buying that crap from the store but what if it is dulling all our clothes? Have you noticed any dulling brights?

I haven't used it long enough to notice any dulling brights, but I did see that someone online added an oxygen cleaner to brighten their clothes. I think she added one cup of oxygen cleaner (she used generic for Oxi-clean) to each batch of detergent.

So I can't seem to find the bar soap you say to use any substitutes?

I found the bar soap at WalMart. I originally looked at Target and they didn't have it. All ingredients were significantly cheaper at Walmart.
