If you need lots of diapers, now is the time to get them at Target.  They have a gift card promotion going on through 12/3rd.  When you buy three big packs of Huggies or Pampers, including Easy Ups (they are marked with special tags in the aisle at the store) you get a $10 gift card automatically at checkout.  Each big pack is $18 to $20.  In addition, if you spend $50 at Target through 12/3rd you can get a $10 gift card with this printable coupon.

I combined both gift card offers today and bought 3 big packs of diapers at $18.99 each.  I also bought wipes and wipes refils for $8.78 total.  I usually make homemade baby wipes but I had really good coupons and I thought they would be nice for holiday traveling.  This adds up to $65.75.

I used a Target coupon and a manufacturers coupon for each pack of diapers and wipes so I used 2 coupons for each item.  This is called stacking coupons.  I received a Target baby mailer the other day full of Target baby coupons so this was easy.  I saved $11.00 off the diapers and wipes with my coupons.  I spent $54.75 total after coupons and received $20 back in gift cards making the total only $34.75 for 3 big packs of diapers (big boxes) and around 300 wipes.

You have to save your gift cards for your next transaction, but you can take your purchases to the car and come back in and shop for the rest of the items on your list with your gift cards.  That's what I did.

Thanks Todd and Erin "That Went Well..." for the coupon link.

If you are expecting you should make a baby registry at Target - even if this is not your first pregnancy.  I recieved this Target Registry guide in the mail with the green coupon attached to it a few months ago (before the baby was born).  The green coupon can be redeemed for a $20 gift card if you make a registry.  Even if you are not anticipating a baby shower, make a simple registry online, print it and take it to the store with the coupon.  You will get a $20 gift card and a nice bag full of coupons and goodies.  You never know - someone might throw you a baby shower.  My babysitting co-op threw me and 4 other expecting Moms a group shower.  It was a lot of fun.

Print a $1.50/1 Aquafresh Training Toothpaste coupon. This coupon is good for toothpaste or a toothbrush.  This brand is available at Target or Walmart and will be pretty cheap with this coupon.  I hit the backspace button after printing and was able to print two unique coupons.

I found a huge collection of Gerber 2-pack pajama sets at Target yesterday marked down from $10.99 to $2.76 each.  I bought the boys all matching pj's and a couple extras for gifts.  There are lots of kid's clothes on clearance now so it's a good time to buy ahead.  These are in season, but I often buy out of season to save money.  This fall, I will buy t-shirts and shorts for my oldest for next summer in the next size up.  The younger boys will wear mostly hand- me-downs.

I also saved a lot of money with coupons yesterday.  I always print the Target online coupons before heading to Target.  I stack Target coupons with manufacturers coupons and save even more by using 2 coupons for one item.  I saved $7.25 using Target coupons and $11.88 using manufacturer's coupons (many of these stacked to use on the same item) bringing my total coupon savings to $19.13.  I only bought items that we needed and use on a regular basis.  You have to be mindful when you start couponing to only buy things you need.  Don't buy it just because you have a coupon (unless it's free of course).

I was shopping in Target yesterday and noticed a display of nice hams that were 1/2 price.  I bought the smallest one they had, 8 1/2 pounds thinking that it would make a couple of nice meals and then I could freeze the hambone and extra meat for soups and recipes.  It was marked down to $1.49 a pound.  Pretty inexpensive per pound for a nice spiral sliced honey ham.  I went to Meijer yesterday too and their hams were also half price - a little less.  I think around $1.29 a pound.  We had delicious ham for dinner tonight and have some in the fridge for sandwiches and dinner tomorrow night.  I froze the rest of the meat and the hambone for soups and recipes.  I spent around $12 on the ham, but I will be able to make several meals out of it.

There is a good deal at Target this week on Huggies and Pampers jumbo packs of diapers and training pants.  They are all on sale for $8.99 and when you buy three, you get a $5 gift card at checkout.  Combine this with coupons and you have a really good deal.  I was able to use two Pampers coupons each for $2 and a Huggies Pull-ups coupon for $1.50.  After coupons and the gift card deal, I paid $5.49 a pack.

You could get Huggies diapers for as low as $4.49 a pack with these printable coupons.  Here are some Huggies printable coupons.

Halloween Costumes are 75% off at Target.  I bought 2 Stars Wars costumes today for $5 each.  My boys can grow into them and use them for a future Halloween or play dress up.  There were still 2 rows of costumes and Halloween decor at my Target today.  There was still a huge section of Halloween candy at 50% off too.  I resisted and didn't buy anymore since we have two plastic pumpkins full of candy.

I found double packs of two Gerber Graduates Yogurt Melts (strawberry) on clearance for $3.35 yesterday at Target on the end cap.  The single packages retail for $2.54 each so this is a nice savings.  My 11 month old loves these and they are handy to stash in the diaper bag for when you need a snack on the go.
